
Orangewomen Lacrosse Defeats Connecticut, 17-8

Syracuse posted four unanswered goals to open the match. The Huskies got on the board in the 18th minute, but the Orangewomen continued their momentum outscoring Connecticut to lead 10-3 at the intermission. UConn opened the scoring in the second half, but was unable to decrease the deficit as SU posted six goals to its five for the 17-8 victory.
Carla Gigon (Hingham, MA) had eight saves in goal for the Orangewomen. The team returns home where it will host Rutgers University in the third conference match of the season at the Carrier Dome on Saturday, April 7. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
