Orangewomen Lacrosse Loses at No. 11 Dartmouth, 11-8

The Orangewomen were first to score as Katrina Hable (Camillus, NY/ Camillus) found Carrie Soults (Washington, DC) just under seven minutes in for the 1-0 lead. The Big Green answered with two goals in the next six minutes before Lauren Brady (Acton, MA) found Stacey Brown (Scotia, NY) for her first of three goals. SU's third first-half goal, was netted off a free position by Brady in the 21st minute.
Trailing 7-3 at the intermission, the Orangewomen went on to outscore Dartmouth 5-4 in the second half of play. Erica Mathewson (Syracuse, NY/ Camillus), Soults and Karen Healy (Freeport, NY) each posted goals to open the series, before freshman Leigh-Ann Zimmer (Farmingdale, NY) found Brown for two goals in the final seven minutes of play. But the rally came too late for SU as it trailed 11-8 as time ran out.
The team will return to action at home this weekend as they host Boston College at noon on Saturday, April 14 and Duquesne University at noon on Easter Sunday. The Saturday game will be the first of a double-header with the men's lacrosse team.
