
Two Orangewomen Make Academic All-District Teams

Graves, a junior and fourth seat on SU's No. 5 ranked varsity eight, graduated in three years and will start work this summer on a master's degree in public administration from the Maxwell School of Public Affairs and Citizenship. Graves, a captain for the Orangewomen, also volunteers at the Wilson Park Community Center in Syracuse. She was the recipient of the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association's 2000 National Scholar Award. She was also named to the USRowing Collegiate Honor Roll in 2000. Graves will row for the Orangewomen at the NCAA championships that begin Thursday and conclude on Saturday in Gainesville, GA.
Soults, a junior on the SU defense, was named third-team All-American and first-team All-North Region in 2001. Soults was the BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year after finishing the 2001 campaign with 42 points on 33 goals and nine assists. She is also a member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll at Syracuse.
Both student-athletes were at-large nominees in District I. To be
eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve and
maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2 on a scale of
4.00. Sports information directors nominate eligible student-athletes
from their schools who are named to district teams prior to being voted
for on the national level.
