Glatzel, a junior tri-captain on this year's Syracuse team, is one of the top defensemen in the college game. He keyed an SU defensive unit that ranked eighth in the nation in scoring defense in 2001. The Orange defense allowed a measly 8.00 goals per game.
Powell, the freshman sensation that was named Attackman of the Year and First-Team All-American, led Syracuse in scoring with 70 points (30 goals, 40 assists). He finished in a tie for fifth in the nation in points per game (4.38).
The Orangemen posted a record of 13-3 this season. They advanced to the NCAA championship game for the third-straight year, but lost a 10-9 overtime decision to Princeton.
