Syracuse Football Recognized For Academics

WACO, TX - For its academic achievement, the Syracuse University football team has earned honorable mention recognition from the American Football Coaches Association. It is the ninth time in the last 11 years that Syracuse football has been recognized for having a graduation rate greater than 70 percent.
Syracuse won the 2000 AFCA Academic Achievement Award, which is presented annually by the Touchdown Club of Memphis, by having a 100 percent graduation rate. This year, SU is one of 28 schools to earn honorable mention status, which is a football graduation rate of 70 percent or higher.
The overall graduation rate of the 95 institutions participating in the survey was 59 percent, as compared to 57 percent the previous year. The median graduation rate was 59 percent, compared to 58 percent the last three years.
Vanderbilt University and the University of Notre Dame share the 2001 Academic Achievement Award.
