Consensus All-American Dwight Freeney (Bloomfield, CT) and second-team All-BIG EAST selection PJ Alexander (Tallahassee, FL) were chosen for the prestigious Senior Bowl, which will be played on January 26 in Mobile, AL. The game will kickoff at 4:00 p.m. EST and will be televised on ESPN. Alexander will play the game at center, rather than offensive tackle spot he has been in during the past two years, because he is projected to play center in the National Football League. Freeney and Alexander are the 44th and 45th Syracuse standouts to earn invitations to the Senior Bowl.
Tailback James Mungro (East Stroudsburg, PA) and cornerback Willie Ford (Falmouth, MA) will compete in the fourth annual Rotary Gridiron Classic in the Orlando Citrus Bowl on Saturday, January 26. The game will be televised on espn2 at 2:00 p.m. Mungro and Ford, who will play for Team USA against Team Florida, join five other Orangemen who have worn the SU helmet in the Gridiron Classic, which began in 1999.
