
Wildcats Defeat Orangewomen In Five Games

VILLANOVA, PA - Freshmen Kristen Conway (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) and Kelly Duan (Baotou City, China/Zhong Shan University) both recorded double-doubles in Syracuse’s 3-2 loss to Villanova on Saturday afternoon in Nevin Field House.
The SU volleyball team (13-7, 2-3 BIG EAST) lost the fifth match, 15-9, after taking the second and third games by scores of 30-28 and 30-27.
Conway recorded 17 kills and 14 digs, while Duan posted career highs with 15 kills and 16 digs. Duan also dished out seven assists and had five total blocks. The SU offense combined for a .173 hitting percentage, compared to Villanova’s .250.
Junior co-captain Christen Casey (Long Beach, IN/Marquette) led the defense with 19 digs. Freshman Aila Dommestrup (Ottawa, Ontario/Sir Robert Borden)and junior
Katie Lanting led five Wildcats (10-12 1-4 BIG EAST) in double figures with 21 kills on 34 attempts with four errors for a .500 attack percentage.
Syracuse returns to action on Sunday when it faces Georgetown at 1 p.m. in Washington, DC.
