Junior John Bitok will strive to end his stand-out season on a high note when he runs in the IC4A Championship at 10:15 a.m. Last year, he won the university division race, finishing 10 seconds faster than his nearest competitor and helping the Orangemen to a 12th place finish of 23 teams. Bitok hopes to capture another title Saturday in the more challenging championship race.
Last season, the Orangewomen finished fourth of 20 teams in the 5K university race. Senior Zelma Jackson was Syracuse's top finisher, coming in sixth out of 142 runners. Her time was just 27 seconds off the pace set by the winner.
Six Syracuse runners will compete in the Coaches Race at 9:30 a.m. The women's 5K and men's 8K will start together. The 94th annual men's IC4A Championship will start at 10:15 a.m., and the women's ECAC 5K championship race will begin at 11:00 a.m.
