SU Football Adds Rhode Island to 2002 Schedule

The 2002 Orange football team will host the University of Rhode Island on Saturday, September 14 in the Carrier Dome for "Take a Kid to the Game Day". As part of the special Youth Group Day, youth tickets (18 and under) will cost just $5 and a special kickoff time of 3:30 p.m. has been designated to accommodate traditional Saturday morning youth activities in the area.

SU completed its 2002 schedule with a contest against Rhode Island after East Carolina cancelled its game with the Orange due to a change in its Conference USA scheduling commitment.

In addition, several key home dates have been designated as special event days. Homecoming and Varsity Club Weekend will be October 5 (SU vs. Pittsburgh), Parents Weekend will be November 9 (SU vs. Virginia Tech) and Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Days will be held for SU's games against North Carolina and Rutgers.

The Orangemen will begin Spring practice Monday, April 1 and conclude Saturday, April 27 with the annual Spring Game. Prior to the Spring Game fans will have an opportunity to purchase new season tickets as part of the "Select A Seat Day" at the Carrier Dome. A selection of the best available seating locations throughout the Dome will be identified to enable fans to sit in these seats to get a feel for the Carrier Dome. The Carrier Dome Box Office will be open on April 27 for season ticket purchases.
