Syracuse meets BIG EAST Conference West Division rival West Virginia tonight for the second time this season at 7:00 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. The #14/10 Orangemen (17-6, 6-3) look to halt their two-game losing streak against the Mountaineers (8-12, 1-7).
An 11-0 run by Rutgers in the last three minutes of the game pushed the Scarlet Knights past Syracuse, 84-72, on Saturday night in front of a sellout crowd at the Louis Brown Athletic Center.
Preston Shumpert and DeShaun Williams led the Orangemen with 21 points each. Shumpert scored a career-high 13-of-14 points from the free throw line.
SU improved its series advantage over the Mountaineers by earning a 75-69 victory at WVU Coliseum on Jan. 12. The Orangemen own a 3-1 record against West Virginia in the Carrier Dome.
