Syracuse Celebrates Senior Day Against Pittsburgh Saturday

Syracuse (15-15, 6-11 ACC) closes out its regular-season schedule at home against Pittsburgh (11-18, 4-12 ACC) on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Day Ceremony
The Syracuse men's basketball team will honor its senior class with a pregame ceremony prior to the tilt with the Panthers. Among those being recognized are Nate Kingz, William Kyle III, J.J. Starling and Bryce Zephir.

Fans are encouraged to arrive to the JMA Wireless Dome early to join the program in recognizing the contributions of the senior class.

Dome-Sweet-Dome
Syracuse men's basketball plays its final regular season game at home against Pitt this Saturday. The Orange are 12-5 at home this season while averaging 78.4 points and holding opponents to less than 70.

Sophomore Donnie Freeman is Syracuse's leading scorer at home, averaging 15.9 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest. His classmate Tyler Betsey has been the team's most efficient 3-point shooter at home, knocking down 25-of-61 (.410) shots from beyond the arc.

Syracuse averages 7.1 blocks at home, with Kyle III having swatted 50 shots at the Dome this season.

The Syracuse-Pittsburgh Series
The Orange and Panthers are familiar with one another, having met 129 times before, including once already this season. Syracuse and Pittsburgh have clashed annually since 1982 with the Orange leading the all-time series, 77-52.

The Orange won this year's first matchup, 83-72, behind 10 made 3-pointers. Freeman led the team with 22 points with Starling close behind with 19.

Syracuse Notes

The Orange average 6.0 blocks per game, the third most in the nation, and trail just Virginia (6.2) and Georgia (6.3).
Kyle III is seventh in the nation and second in the ACC in blocks per game at 2.5.
Freeman is averaging 16.7 points per game in ACC-play, the 12^th highest in the league. He is coming off a double-double against Louisville.
Naithan George posted a double-double two games back against Wake Forest, recording 13 points to go with 10 assists. He leads the team with 159 assists this season.
Kingz has hit multiple 3-pointers in five of his last six outings, including hitting five against Wake Forest.

Pittsburgh Notes

Pittsburgh split its last two games, posting a 16-point triumph over California last weekend before narrowly falling to Florida State this past week.
The Panthers offense is paced by Cameron Corhen, who posts 12.9 points and 7.0 boards per game.
Pittsburgh is shooting .337 from 3-point range this year, led by Damarco Minor who has connected on 54 triples this year.
Pittsburgh is led by Jeff Capel, who is in his eighth season at the helm of the Panthers. He has compiled an overall record of 125-126 during his time there.
The Panthers need a victory on Saturday to earn a spot in the ACC Tournament.
