Jones Earns All-America Honors

Syracuse University senior Opal Jones (Capitol Heights, Md./Bishop McNamara) earned All-American honors in the 60-meter hurdles at the 2002 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship in Fayetteville, Ark., on March 8 and 9.
Jones crossed the finish line in 8.40 to place seventh among American student-athletes. The top eight finishers in each event receive All-American honors. Jones is the first SU student-athlete to receive All-American honors in indoor track & field since Cheree Hicks (women's shot put) and Adrian Woodley (men's 60-meter hurdles) in 2000.
