Syracuse to Host Vielbig Track & Field Invitational

In addition to Syracuse, teams from Canisius, Cortland State, Mohawk Valley CC, Oswego State and Delhi College will compete, as well as the Ottawa Lions, Elite Athletics Track Club and the Syracuse Chargers Track Club.
Nineteen men's and women's student athletes from SU have qualified for the BIG EAST Championship, including 13 who have also qualified for the ECAC/IC4A Championships.
Junior Richard Polidore (Chino, Calif./Chino) has posted the top-two BIG EAST 100-meter times this season, while freshman Nicole Kendrick (Lancaster, Ohio/Lancaster) leads the BIG EAST and has provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championship in the discus. Junior Aprelle Watkins (Virginia Beach, Va./Salem), who set the school record in the triple jump on April 6, will also be competing.
This is Syracuse?s only home meet of the outdoor season. The field events will begin at 10:30 a.m. with womens's discus and men's javelin. Track events will start at noon with the women?s 3000-meter steeplechase.
