Senior attackman Josh Coffman (Carthage, N.Y.) , who scored seven points in the Orangemen's 15-14 victory against Georgetown on Saturday, earned the Warrior/Inside Lacrosse Division I Player of the Week award.
In his last home game in the Carrier Dome, Coffman scored a career-high five goals to lead No. 2-ranked Syracuse to a 15-14 victory against No. 3-ranked Georgetown. Coffman also added two assists to finish as the game's high scorer with seven points.
Coffman is Syracuse's second-leading scorer this season with 59 points. He is tied with sophomore Michael Powell (Carthage, N.Y.) for the team lead in goals with 36. Coffman was a first-team All-America midfielder last season. This year, he is a leading candidate for the award at the attack position. He is also a leading candidate for the second-annual Tewaaraton Trophy, which goes to the best player in all of collegiate lacrosse.
