Greetings From the New Voice of the Orange

The football season is fast approaching and I can't wait to arrive in Syracuse to get underway in my new position as the "Voice of theOrange". Since being named to the position on July 16th, life has been fairly chaotic for my family and me. Between selling our house in Bloomington, Ill., finding a new home in CNY, and doing all the little things that are part of making a move, I've barely had time to think about the fact that beginning August 29th, I'll be broadcasting games for one of the premier athletic programs in the nation.
One of the first things I'd like to do is say, "Thank You" to everyone in the "Orange Family" with whom I've had contact so far. Athletics Director Jake Crouthamel, administrators Michael Veley, Sue Edson, Pete Moore, and Syracuse Sports Properties General Manager Scott Malaga have all gone above and beyond expectations to ensure that my transition is as smooth as possible. If these people represent everyone at S.U., and I'm sure they do, I fully understand why Syracuse annually experiences great success on the playing fields.
Here's a little bit about me. I'm a native of North Dakota and have been in radio for nearly 15 years, including the last 10 working in sports. For the last four years I have been the "Voice of the Redbirds" at Illinois State University in Bloomington, Ill. My wife, Susan, and I have three children: Nicolas, who recently turned 11, Halle, who will be nine at the end of August, and Jacob, who is five. We are an active family and look forward to becoming involved residents of the Syracuse area.
As I have said during recent interviews and to many of you via email, I'm excited to be joining the "Orange Family" and getting a chance to meet many of you. But, first things first, and that is hitting the ground running and getting to know as much as I can about Coach Pasqualoni's football team in preparation for the August 29th opener at B.Y.U. in Provo, Utah. (I've already told Coach MacPherson that I'll be picking his brain for a great deal of insight.) I'm looking forward to a great football season and my first game in the "Loud House"! Go Orange!
