Pasqualoni has guided Syracuse to a league-best 54 conference victories. His career BIG EAST record is 54-21.
During Pasqualoni’s tenure, the Orangemen have not lost to Pittsburgh (11-0) or Temple (11-0). Coach P’s teams have also been successful against Rutgers (10-1), West Virginia (8-3) and Boston College (7-4). Virginia Tech (5-5) and Miami (2-8) have given SU the most difficulty in recent years.
Pasqualoni’s three BIG EAST Championships tie him with Virginia Tech’s Frank Beamer and Dennis Erickson, formerly of Miami, for tops in league history. Syracuse won consecutive championships in 1996 (a three-way tie with Miami and Virginia Tech), 1997 and 1998.
The Pasqualoni-led Orangemen kick off the 2002 season on August 29 in Provo, Utah against Brigham Young. Syracuse will open the home portion of the schedule on September 7 when North Carolina visits the Carrier Dome. For tickets call 888-DOMETIX or visit www.dometix.com.
