2002 Football Season Kicks Off With Media Day

The 2002 football Orangemen are in Syracuse and set to begin two-a-day practices on Thursday. The team met with the media, posed for pictures and were fitted for their uniforms on Wednesday.
Butkus and Lombardi Award candidate Clifton Smith returns to lead the defense, while junior quarterback R.J. Anderson is entrenched as the starting signal caller for 12th-year head coach Paul Pasqualoni.
Syracuse, which finished the 2001 season with a 10-3 mark, was picked to finish third in the preseason BIG EAST media poll. Read what Coach Pasqualoni and members of the team think about the upcoming season.
