Have you ever witnessed a 600-pound bench press? Tonight on "The Pulse" listen to SU football student-athlete Louis Gachelin's first-person account of that feat. The junior defensive end joins host Mark Johnson on "The Pulse", which airs daily, Monday through Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on ESPN Radio (1260 AM).
In addition, Johnson will talk with SU Associate Director of Athletics Rob Edson about football scheduling, including the reason why SU has a Division I-AA opponent on its schedule for the first time since 1987.
In two games this season Gachelin has put his power to good use. Against the Tar Heels he had one sack, three tackles, including two for a loss, and two quarterback hurries. In the season-opener at Brigham Young, Gachelin had one sack, one forced fumble, four tackles and two quarterback hurries.
SU's future football schedules include Notre Dame, Penn State, Ohio State, Illinois and Louisville, in addition to the BIG EAST slate.
