Thursday on "The Pulse"

Fresh from his appearance on Oprah former SU standout quarterback Don McPherson will join "Voice of the Orange" Mark Johnson on "The Pulse" on Thursday to discuss his outstanding work as the associate director of an innovative program called Athletes Helping Athletes (AHA), which is based at Adelphi University. The organization arranges training conferences for the program in which high school student-athletes lecture younger students in their community on topics raning from building self-esteem to violence prevention. In addition, Johnson will talk with current SU senior strong safety Keeon Walker. "The Pulse" airs daily, Monday through Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on ESPN Radio (1260 AM).
During his playing career at Syracuse from 1983-87, McPherson started at quarterback for three years. As a senior in 1987 he guided the  Orangemen to an unbeaten season (11-0-1 record) and won the Davey O'Brien Award as the nation's best quarterback.
