
Orangewomen Look To Remain Undefeated in JMU Classic

The volleyball team looks to remain undefeated when it faces Maryland and James Madison today in the JMU/Days Inn Classic in Harrisonburg, VA.
SU (3-0) takes on the Terrapins at 10 a.m. and then the Dukes in the nightcap at 7 p.m. Maryland leads the series against the Orangewomen, 7-6, while the SU-JMU series is tied at 1-1. Maryland is 3-0 after capturing the title at the Maryland Invitational with wins against UMBC, Binghamton and George Washington. James Madison is 1-3 on the season with its lone win coming against New Orleans.
Syracuse won the Big Orange Tournament last weekend with 3-0 wins against Wagner, Loyola and Central Connecticut State. Freshman Kristen Conway (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) was named tournament MVP after recording 16 kills and 12 digs against CCSU. Juniors Christen Casey (Long Beach, IN/Marquette) and Michaela Skelly (Simi Valley, CA/Royal) received all-tournament honors for their performances.
The Orangewomen finish tournament action on Saturday when they face Campbell at 11 a.m.
