Fans are invited to come to the Carrier Dome early for the six remaining Syracuse University home men's basketball games. Four gates at the Carrier Dome (A, B, C and E) will be open 90 minutes prior to tipoff. The remaining gates will open 60 minutes prior to the start of the game, as usual.
"We have a lot of activity in the Carrier Dome prior to a men's basketball game for fans to enjoy and we want to encourage them to participate by allowing more time," said SU Director of Athletic Jake Crouthamel. "We are going to do this for the remainder of this season."
For the remaining games, Carrier Dome staff will monitor and evaluate the activity in the Dome during this additional half hour for consideration when establishing protocol for next season.
During every home game fans of all ages have the opportunity to participate in the Coaches vs. Cancer Shootout, see the 95X Rocks Box, which is accompanied by a prize wheel fans can spin on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition, concession stands serving a variety of foods, and beer tents are open throughout the Dome with tables set up for dining convenience in the backcourt area. Prior to every home game fans can sign-up for the in-game prize giveaways in the backcourt area until 25 minutes before tipoff.
Upcoming events include, the SU football team signing autographs in the backcourt area prior to the basketball game againt Notre Dame on February 15 and the Extreme Acrobatic Team will perform during halftime of SU's game against St. John's on February 18.
SU's games against Pittsburgh (2/1/03), Notre Dame (2/15/03) and Rutgers (3/9/03) are Family Fun Days. Packages including two adult tickets, two youth tickets, a $5 concession coupon and a parking pass are available for $45.
Syracuse's next home game is Saturday, February 1 at 7:00 p.m. when the second-ranked Pittsburgh Panthers visit the Carrier Dome.
