The undefeated Syracuse Orangemen (2-0) will face their toughest test so far this season as they go up against seven-time defending BIG EAST men's champion Pittsburgh at Ted Webster Pool. In dual-meet competition, Syracuse actually holds a 21-20 advantage in the all-time series against the Panthers. On the women’s side, Pittsburgh leads the series, 17-3.
Pittsburgh will swim at St. Bonaventure on Oct. 31, before driving down the NYS Thruway to compete at Syracuse on Saturday. The Panthers held their annual Blue-Gold intra-squad scrimmage on Oct. 10.
Syracuse has seen its men defeat Colgate (159.5 - 80.5) and St. Bonaventure (156 - 82) so far this season. Both teams were strong at last weekend's Sonny Werblin Invitational at Rutgers where BIG EAST "A" qualifying standards were reached in 10 different events. The SU women are 1-1 in dual-meet action, beating Colgate (128 - 111), and losing to St. Bonaventure, 124 - 111.
