The Orangewomen are seeking their first win against Notre Dame since the first meeting between the two teams in 1981. Since that first match, the Fighting Irish have won 10 straight meetings with SU, including a 30-26, 30-21, 30-26 decision in 2002. Syracuse’s lone victory in the series, in 1981, was in the second season of the Orange program and was by a score of 11-15, 15-7, 15-12, 15-7.
Syracuse is currently tied for seventh place in the 13-team BIG EAST. The top four teams participate in the BIG EAST Tournament. The Orangewomen have four conference matches remaining after their showdown with the Fighting Irish.
The first serve of SU's match against Notre Dame will be at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday at the Joyce Center in South Bend, Ind.
