Orange Volleyball Loses to St. John's, 3-2

JAMAICA, N.Y. - The Syracuse volleyball team lost its second consecutive BIG EAST match with a 3-2 (26-30, 30-28, 28-30, 30-26, 15-7) decision against St. John's on Sunday, Oct. 5. The Orangewomen (13-8, 2-2 BIG EAST) are in a two-match slide after losing to Connecticut on Saturday.
Sophomore Aila Dommestrup finished one assist shy of her career high with 60, as well as seven digs and four block assists. Junior Morgan Jones had 15 kills on 38 attempts, and sophomore Kristen Conway finished with 21 kills on 49 attempts as well as seven digs. Sophomore Kelly Duan recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 13 kills and 11 digs, as well as three service aces and five total blocks. Freshman Erin McQuillin tied her career high with three aces and also had six total blocks.
For the Red Storm, Tobyn Kurasaki recorded a triple-double with 15 kills, 14 assists and 16 digs. Jackie Ahlers had a double-double with 32 kills and 10 digs. Rosalyn Dang posted 11 kills on 27 attempts with eight digs and six block assists. Yana Ruban finished with 13 kills on 22 attempts and a .409 hitting percentage. Nicole Colaluca led all players with 21 digs.
Syracuse returns home to Manley Field House for two BIG EAST matches next weekend, Friday against Rutgers, and Sunday against Seton Hall.
