
Orangewomen to Take on Navy

HONOLULU, Hawaii - The Syracuse women's basketball team will face the United States Naval Academy in the consolation bracket of the Rainbow Wahine Classic on Sunday, November 30 at 4 p.m. ET. SU is 2-2 overall and 0-2 in tournament play, while the Midshipmen are 2-3 overall and 0-2 in Hawaii.
The Orangewomen lost their second game of the tournament to Hawaii on Saturday. Navy lost its first consolation game to No. 18 Arizona.
SU senior Julie McBride led the Orangewomen with 24 points against the Rainbow Wahine. McBride is scoring a team-best 23.8 points per game this season, including a 15.0 average in the two tournament games. Freshman Lauren Kohn had her first career double-digit scoring game of her career with 13 against Hawaii. Kohn is SU's second-leading scorer with a 7.8 points per game overall average and an 8.0 average in the tournament. Sophomore Tierra Jackson is Syracuse's leading rebounder, both overall and at the Rainbow Wahine Classic. Jackson is pulling down 5.5 boards per contest overall and 6.5 rebounds in tournament action.
Navy is led by Courtney Davidson at 15.2 points per game. She scored 21 points versus Arizona, crossing the 1,600-point mark for her career. Adrienne Roseti is scoring at a 14.2 clip and is the Mids leading rebounder at 5.2 per game. Maile Shinoda runs the offense, averaging 6.0 assists per contest.
Syracuse is averaging 10.5 three-pointers per contest in its first four games. The Orangewomen have been strong after halftime, outscoring opponents 144-108 in the second half.
Following the Rainbow Wahine Classic, SU will play at George Washington on Thursday, December 4. The Orangewomen return home to play Yale on Sunday, December 7.
