Stalker served as an assistant coach at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County (UMBC) this past year and was an assistant at Division III Cortland State in the spring of 2003. She was a volunteer assistant coach at SU in the fall of 2002 and spent that summer competing for the Memphis Mercury in the USISL “W” League.
At Syracuse, Stalker was a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) first-team scholar athlete in 2000-01. She also was a member of NSCAA All-Northeast Region Third Team in 2000 and was an All-BIG EAST Second Team selection. She also earned Soccer Buzz All-Northeast Region Third Team honors that same season. Stalker finished her Syracuse career tied for seventh on the Orangewomen’s all-time assists list with 11.
Stalker earned her bachelor’s degree in dietetics and was an eight-time member of SU’s Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and a four-time BIG EAST Academic All-Star.
Stalker will replace Tracy Britton, who spent three years with the women’s soccer program. Britton is leaving the team to return to school to pursue a master’s degree in sport psychology.
Syracuse went 9-8-1 in 2003 and had two student-athletes (Anne-Marie Lapalme and Molly McManus) earn all-conference honors. Syracuse also earned the NSCAA Academic Team Award for the fourth time in eight seasons.
