
Wishart First Alternate on Canadian Junior National Team

Wishart, competing for the Kingston/Napanee Track & Field Club, finished seventh among those eligible to compete at the 2004 Junior World Cross Country Championship and 12th overall with a time of 27:08 in the 8,000-meter race. The top six eligible finishers make the Canadian Junior National Team.
Henok Lechebo of the Toronto Olympic Club won the race, posting a time of 25:28 on the snowy and muddy race course. The Toronto Olympic Club placed two other runners in the top 10. A.P. Baillargeon -Smith finished third at 26:25 and Saheed Khan claimed eighth with a time of 26:48,
Wishart was consistently one of SU’s top performers this season. He placed in the top 15 three times in 2003, including winning the men’s individual championship at the Orange Classic on Sept. 27. He was the Orangemen’s third finisher at the IC4A Championship (12th place) and the BIG EAST Championship (45th place).
Wishart will also compete for Syracuse's indoor and outdoor track and field teams this year. The indoor team begins its season Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Cornell Relays.
