
Joines Selected As BIG EAST Co-Offensive Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, RI - Syracuse University’s Monica Joines was named BIG EAST Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, March 30. Joines recorded 10 points in SU’s two wins last week.
Joines posted six goals and four assists in the Orangewomen’s two wins last week against Colgate and Connecticut. Against Colgate, the sophomore midfielder posted a career-high eight points (four goals and four assists). Joines became one of four Orangewomen to register at least eight points in a game. In the win against Connecticut, Joines scored SU’s first two goals to tie the game at 2-2.
Joines has scored at least one goal in the last six games and posted nine tallies in the past four games. She is second on the team and seventh in the BIG EAST in scoring with 15 goals and five assists.
The No. 8 Orangewomen are 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the BIG EAST. SU’s next game is Wednesday, April 2 when it faces Notre Dame at 7 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
