
Mullin Named Director of Athletic Compliance

At Syracuse Mullin will coordinate and maintain the University's compliance program and manage the operation of the office of athletic compliance. His duties will include developing and maintaining effective operating procedures and administrative systems to insure proper institutional compliance; directing a education program on NCAA regulations; serving as a resource for the community on athletic-related regulations; coordinating and directing the University’s athletic policies and procedures for responding to rules violations; monitoring eligibility and financial aid for student-athletes; and serving as the compliance liaison to the NCAA, ECAC, and BIG EAST conference offices.
At Fresno State, Mullin administered all facets of the institution's compliance program, including assisting FSU's response to the NCAA's official inquiry and the NCAA Committee on Infractions hearing. Mullin also developed, implemented and monitored compliance systems for recruiting, eligibility, academic integrity, financial aid, tickets, promotions, playing and practice seasons, amateurism, camps and clinics, and awards, benefits and expenses. In addition, Mullin was a member of the athletics director's executive staff and served on several search committees to hire new staff.
Prior to his tenure at Fresno State, Mullin worked in the compliance office at Central Michigan University as an assistant between August 1999 through May 2001. Mullin earned his bachelor's degree in history from Northern Michigan University and is completing a master's degree in sport administration at Central Michigan University.
