SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Central New York Chapter of the National Football Foundation and Syracuse University will host the National Football League/National Football Foundation Coaching Academy on Saturday, July 12 at the George Iocolano and William C. The program will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will cover topics such as coaching philosophy, offensive and defensive strategy, individual skills, and sports psychology. The cost of the event is $40 for those registered by June 20 and $50 after June 20. The fee includes a one-year membership in the C.N.Y. Chapter, lunch, a t-shirt, an interactive CD-ROM, printed material by the NFL and a certificate verifying completion of the program.
Working with a nationally recognized team of coaches, sports psychologists, medical experts, the NFF, the NFL and the NFL Players Association have created a curriculum that includes coaching philosophy, on-field strategy, football skills, strength and conditioning, coach-player communication, program and team management, life skills development, and player health and safety.
