
Anthony Selected Third in NBA Draft

Anthony is the 13th SU basketball player to be selected in the first round of the NBA draft, and the first since 2000 when Etan Thomas was the 12th pick of the Dallas Mavericks. He is the 28th player to hear his name announced at the NBA draft during head coach Jim Boeheim's 27 seasons as SU's leader.
Anthony led Syracuse to the NCAA Championship in April after averaging 22.2 points an 10.0 rebounds per game in his rookie season. He averaged 26.5 points and 12.0 rebounds against Texas and Kansas in the Final Four. Anthony was also named the NCAA East Regional MVP, Basketball Times Freshman of the Year, USBWA Freshman of the Year and a Sporting News first team All-American among other accolades.
