Orange Volleyball Loses To Cleveland State, 3-0

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Orangewomen volleyball team lost its second game of the Western New York Tournament, 3-0, to Cleveland State (4-0) on Saturday.
Syracuse (1-1) was within 10 points of Cleveland State in every game, but couldn't get past the Vikings. SU was closest in the first match, 30-26, and lost the other two matches, 30-23 and 30-21.
Sophomore Kristen Conway had 11 kills on 33 attempts, and also had eight digs and two serving aces. Classmate Kelly Duan led the Orange defense with 11 digs and five block assists. Sophomore Aila Dommestrup recorded a match-high five aces. Her 27 assists moved her into eighth place on SU's career assists list with 611.
Julie Stover recorded a double-double for the Vikings with 12 kills on 30 attempts and 11 digs. Kelly Crain had 24 assists and seven digs, and Jamie Bouyer notched 14 kills and a .542 hitting percentage. Danielle Siefker had nine kills on 11 attempts with no errors for a .818 hitting percentage.
The Orangewomen are back on the court at 7:00 p.m. against host Buffalo. They play their last game of the tournament against Youngstown State on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
