Rowers Return From Winter Training Trip to Florida

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse University rowing team recently completed its winter training trip in Melbourne, Fla. The Orangewomen spent eight days down south (Jan.1-9) preparing for the upcoming spring season.
The week focused heavily on technique and conditioning. Their training regimen included a two-mile morning run to the beach, followed by two hours of rowing. The Orangewomen also had another two-hour rowing session in the afternoons.
Off the water, the squad participated in some team building exercises, including goal setting and beach workouts with a focus on bringing the freshman team together with the varsity team. The week ended with SU’s annual senior dinner.
SU’s next training trip will be in Miami, Fla. from March 6-13.
The Orangewomen will host Boston University and Duke in their first spring competiton on March 27 on Onondaga Lake.
