
Four Football Orangemen Named ECAC All-Stars

Scanlon was a second-team All-BIG EAST selection and he was named the defensive most valuable player at the Blue-Gray All-Star Classic. He was selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team. His 147 tackles in 2003 ranks 10th on SU’s single-season tackles by a linebacker list, and his 94 solo stops are the seventh-most in Syracuse history. Scanlon finished his career ranked eighth on SU’s tackles for a loss list with 22.5 stops for a loss of 92 yards.
Ferrara was also a second-team All-BIG EAST selection, and he also played in the Blue-Gray All-Star Classic. On Saturday, Jan. 10, he will played in the 79th annual East-West Shrine Game. His total of 16.5 tackles for a loss of 43 yards is the third-highest single-season mark in school history. In his final game, against Notre Dame, Ferrara tied the SU single-game record with five tackles for a loss of 22 yards, including one sack for a loss of eight yards. Ferrara finished fifth on SU’s career list with 30 tackles for a loss of 90 yards.
Barber was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team in 2003. This season, Barber made 33-of-34 PAT attempts and 12-of-16 field goal attempts. He finished ninth in the BIG EAST in overall scoring with 6.3 points per game, and third in scoring by kick. His 75.0 field goal percentage ranked second in the league. Barber ranks third on SU’s career PATs made list with 87 and third on the career PATs attempted ledger with 92. He is tied for sixth on the all-time field goals made list with 28. Barber’s career field goal percentage of .667 (28/42) ranks sixth at Syracuse.
Terry was one of seven SU players named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team this season. He was also named to the Dopke.com All-American Junior Team. Terry started all 12 games at left tackle in 2003, and was part of an offensive line that blocked for Walter Reyes, who rushed for 1,347 yards and a school-record 20 touchdowns.
