SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Freshman swimmer Katie Maaske (Jacksonville, Fla./Bolles School) wasted little time getting her name in the school record books. In the Orange's first meet of the season against the Syracuse Chargers on Oct. 8, Maaske set a Ted Webster Pool record in the women's 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.60. She broke U.S. Olympian and former Villanova standout Maddy Crippen's record of 1:05.82 set at Webster Pool during a dual-meet against the Orange on February 8, 2003.
Maaske and the Orange host Colgate in a dual-meet this Friday, Oct. 15, at 4:30 p.m. The swimmers will compete at Ted Webster Pool, while the divers will perform at Sibley Pool in the Women's Building.
