
SU Volleyball Travels to Canisius

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Syracuse volleyball team (16-5) travels to Canisius (7-9) on Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 6:00 p.m. for its only match this week. SU is riding a three-match winning streak that started last weekend when the Orange defeated Marist, Seton Hall and Rutgers.
This will be the 11th consecutive meeting between Syracuse and Canisius and the 13th time overall. Last season, SU beat Canisius by scores of 30-16, 30-27 and 30-13 in the Western New York Tournament in Buffalo. SU is 12-0 against Canisius.
SU head coach Jing Pu will be going for his 200th win as Syracuse’s head coach when the team takes the court tonight. Pu entered the season with 183 wins at SU and 322 wins overall.KAUP
KAUP RECORDS FIRST CAREER BLOCK ASSIST
Freshman libero, Joscie Kaup registered her first block assist against Marist. Kaup was the only member of the team to not have recorded a total block this season. As a class, the freshmen have 123 total blocks this season. The junior class leads the team with 135 total blocks.
BRUEGGE HAS CAREER MATCH VERSUS SETON HALL
Freshman Ellen Bruegge made a career-best 12 kills on a career-high 26 attempts against Seton Hall on Oct. 9. Bruegge is fourth about Orange players in kills this season with 117.DUAN HAS
DUAN HAS EXCEPTIONAL WEEKEND PERFORMANCE
Junior Kelly Duan was one of SU’s constant performers on the court this weekend. Duan led the team in kills during both its BIG EAST matches over the weekend, also including a double-double against Seton Hall with 21 kills and 14 digs. Against Rutgers, she had a team-high 18 kills. Duan was also a leader for the Orange at the net, recording 11 block assists in SU’s three matches over the weekend.
THREE RECORD DOUBLE-DOUBLES AGAINST SETON HALL
Besides Kelly Duan, two other Orange student-athletes recorded double-double in the match against Seton Hall. Junior Aila Dommestrup recorded 59 assists and made 13 digs, while junior Kristen Conway had 20 kills and 10 digs.
