SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women’s soccer team hosts Connecticut on Friday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. The Orange has never beaten the Huskies in nine meetings. Last season, the Orange lost 6-0 in Storrs, Conn.
The Orange is led by sophomore Molly McManus with eight points on three goals and two assists. Senior goalie Shannon Myers has three shutouts and is seven saves away from taking over first place on SU’s all-time saves list. Syracuse is ranked No. 5 in the NSCAA Northeast Region poll. SU is averaging 14.6 shots per game and 1.62 goals per contest.
Connecticut is 7-5-0 on the season and ranked No. 3 in the NSCAA Northeast Region poll. The Huskies are led by the BIG EAST’s second leading scorer, Kristen Graczyk, with 19 points on six goals and seven assists. UConn goalie Megan Jessee leads the BIG EAST with 64 saves and is tied for fourth with four shutouts.
