SYRACUSE, N.Y. – ISP Sports, the exclusive multimedia rightsholder for Syracuse Athletics, has announced a change in the top position on its sales and marketing staff that services the Orange. Joe Baldini, who has worked for ISP since it became a partner with Orange Athletics in 1998, will become Assistant Vice President and General Manager of Syracuse ISP Sports on January 1, 2005. He previously served as the Coordinator of Marketing at St. Bonaventure University and as a Marketing Manager for the HSBC Arena and Buffalo Sabres. Baldini will replace Scott Malaga, who has been the general manager of the ISP Sports office in Syracuse for the past three years. Malaga has accepted the newly created position of Vice President for National Sales for the company. In June, 2003, Baldini was promoted to senior associate general manager and has been responsible for the development of corporate relationships and assisting in the day-to-day operations of the business.
“We are pleased that Joe is moving into general manager position,” said SU Director of Athletics Jake Crouthamel. “Joe’s experiences during his tenure with Syracuse ISP Sports will provide a strong foundation for leading the operation.”
ISP Sports, which is based in Winston-Salem, NC, is the multimedia rightsholder for 18 other major intercollegiate athletic programs. As part of its relationship with SU, the company produces and markets a variety of services, including radio play-by-play and call-in shows, television programming, stadium and arena signage, game programs, and corporate hospitality opportunities. ISP also markets the university’s official athletics website, suathletics.com.
