Clune Named Scholar-Athlete of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior Melissa Clune, a member of the women’s swimming team, has been honored as the Syracuse University Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of Dec. 6.
Clune is a four-time Athletic Director’s Honor Roll selection. She has also been selected as a BIG EAST Academic All-Star each of her first two years. Clune is majoring in political science at Syracuse.
The women’s swimming team competed at the Nutmeg Invitational last weekend, where Clune finished second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 58:65. The SU swimming and diving team will head to Puerto Rico for its third annual Winter Training Trip on January 2, 2005. The Orange will face BIG EAST rival West Virginia in Morgantown, W. Va. on Jan. 15.
