
Crockett Added to Tewaaraton Watch List

Men's lacrosse sophomore Brian Crockett, who is leading the nation with 4.33 goals per game, has been added to the Tewaaraton Trophy watch list. He joins teammates Michael Powell and Sean Lindsay who were named to the list earlier this season. There are now a total of 30 candidates in line to receive the fourth annaul Tewaaraton Trophy, which is presented to the best player in college lacrosse.
On March 17, the men's selection committee added four players to the "watch list." Crockett was added, along with Conor Ford and Matt Rewkowski of Johns Hopkins and Scott Davidson from Denver. A list of 20 nominees will be released at the end of April.Â
Powell leads the Orangemen in scoring with 19 points (nine goals, 10 assists). He leads the nation with 6.33 points per game. Crockett is SU's top goal scorer with 13 markers. He is second in scoring with 16 points (13 goals, three assists). He leads the nation in goals per game (4.33) and is third in the country in points per game with 5.33. Lindsay, a midfielder, is Syracuse's third-leading scorer with 10 points (seven goals, three assists).
The Tewaaraton Trophy is awarded each year to the top male and female varsity lacrosse player, as chosen by the selection committee. The trophy will be presented in Washington, DC on June 3, 2004 at a banquet honoring the finalists and trophy winners. The ceremony will be held at the National Geographic Society Auditorium and broadcast by CSTV.Â
