Hernandez Named ECAC Co-Female Field Athlete of the Week

CAPE COD, Mass. - Syracuse junior thrower Johvonne Hernandez is the ECAC Co-Female Field Athlete of the Week for the week of March 23.

After participating in her second consecutive NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship, Hernandez opened the outdoor season with three top-three finishes at the Hurricane Invitational on Saturday, March 20. Hernandez won the discus with an NCAA Regional-qualifying mark of 48.61 meters. She placed second in the shot put with an NCAA-Regional-qualifying mark of 14.48 meters, and she finished third in the hammer throw with an ECAC-qualifying throw of 49.74 meters.

Syracuse next competes at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C., March 26-27.
