Greenhalgh to be Inducted into National Wrestling Hall of Fame

Greenhalgh came to Syracuse from nearby Vestal High School. He was a two-year letterwinner, 1962-63, and helped the Orangemen to a perfect 9-0 record and an EIWA Championship in 1963.
After Syracuse, Greenhalgh moved to Long Island and joined the Olympic Resilite firm. He became involved in local, state and national wrestling programs. He has been elected the Nassau County Coaches’ Association Man of the Year in wrestling, and has been inducted into the New York Wrestling Coaches’ Hall of Fame. Greenhalgh has served as the chairman of the Empire State Games and the Long Island Open.
Greenhalgh is currently the coach of the New York Athletic Club wrestling team after serving as team captain for 10 years. He was the team leader of the American squad at the World Freestyle Championship at Madison Square Garden. Currently, he is working with the Committee for 2012 that is trying to bring the Olympics to New York City.
