
Boral Improves Upon 200 Breaststroke Time

Freshman #Luk Boral (Poznan, Poland)# of the Syracuse University swimming and diving team improved his BIG EAST Conference record time in the men's 200 breaststroke at the Tar Heel Invitational on March 4. Â Boral, who set the school record just two weeks ago when he won a gold medal at the 2004 BIG EAST Championship, posted a time of 1:58.57 to set a new university standard. Â His time in the 200 breaststroke at the league championship meet was 1:59.30. Â
Boral participated in the Tar Heel Invitational in order to improve his time for the NCAA Men's Swimming Championship on March 25, at the Nassau County Aquatics Center in Long Island. Â Currently, Boral owns an NCAA consideration time. Â This year's NCAA qualifying standard in the men's 200 breaststroke is 1:57.35. Â He will find out in the next few weeks if his latest time is good enough to send him to the nation's premier swimming event.
