Orangewomen Tennis Team Adds Vaynberg for 2004-05

Vaynberg, who was born in the Ukraine and raised in Princeton, N.J., played four seasons of varsity tennis for West Windsor Plainsboro High School South. She was undefeated in the regular season all four years, posting a record of 82-4 with her only losses coming in the state tournament. Vaynberg, who captained the Pirates as a senior, was a four-year member of the all-state first team as well as a four-year member of the All-Colonial Valley Conference First Team. She was a state semifinalist in 2002, and was the Colonial Valley Conference Player of the Year in 2002 and 2003. She is a two-time team MVP, and has earned several awards for sportsmanship, including the ITF Hard Court Championship Sportsmanship Award, the Middle States Sportsmanship Award and the Zonals Sportsmanship Award. Vaynberg has earned a regional ranking of No. 2 in singles and No. 1 in doubles in the 18-and-under category. She held a national ranking of No. 116 in under-16 singles and No. 21 in under-16 doubles. Currently, Vaynberg is one of the top 175 players in the country in the 18-and-under category.
The current Orangewomen hold a 6-11 overall record and a 4-2 mark in the BIG EAST this season.
