Former SU men's lacrosse players will be back in town the weekend of Sept. 10-12, 2004. The Orange Pack Office, along with the Stickmen's Fund, has organized a special Lacrosse Alumni Weekend in Syracuse to honor the 2004 National Champions.
The 2004 Orange team kept the amazing streak alive by advancing to NCAA Championship Weekend for the 22nd consecutive season and went on to capture the school's ninth NCAA crown with a 14-13 victory against Navy on Memorial Day. The game was played in front of a record 43,898 fans at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore and was televised LIVE on ESPN.
The alumni weekend begins on Friday, Sept. 10, with an alumni golf day at Drumlin's Country Club at 11:00 a.m.
On Saturday, Sept. 11, the day starts with an alumni game at 11:00 a.m. on Coyne Field at Manley Field House (if inclement weather the game will be moved to the Carrier Dome). Families and friends are invited to come and cheer on all the alums. After the alumni game, the 2005 Orange lacrosse team will take the field for an intrasquad scrimmage. A tailgate party will be held in the Manley parking lot following the two lacrosse games.
On Sunday, Sept. 12, everyone will gather to honor the 2004 team at a 12:00 p.m. ceremony at the SU Sheraton. At this very special event, the Orange will be presented with their National Championship rings.
