
Orange Football BeginsTwo-A-Day Practices

The 2004 football Orange completed the acclimatization period and will participate in double-session practices until Wednesday, August 25. SU will then have one practice per day leading up to the start of classes on Monday, September 30.
Head coach Paul Pasqualoni and his staff have shifted a few team members to different positions, including sophomore Chris Thorner from offensive to defensive line, redshirt freshman Kyle Bell from wide receiver to safety and junior Mike Sklarosky from defensive line to offensive line.
The Orange kick off the 2004 campaign at Purdue on Sunday, September 5 at 1:30 p.m. The game will be televised nationally on ABC. Syracuse will begin the home portion of its schedule against Cincinnati on Saturday, September 18 at 12:00 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
Members of the Ernie Davis Fund will have get to see the team before its debut at Purdue in an intrasquad scrimmage on Monday, August 23. Anyone interested in joining the Ernie Davis Fund shoul call the Orange Pack Office at 315-443-2054.
All Syracuse fans will have their first opportunity to see the Orange at the annual Orange FanFest at Manley Field House on Tuesday, August 24. The event begins at 4:00 p.m. and there is no admission charge. Orange fans can watch the SU football, field hockey and men's and women's soccer teams practice at the Lampe Athletics Complex practice fields behind Manley Field House. At the conclusion of each team's practice, student-athletes and coaches will meet the public and sign autographs. Fans can also see the 2004 men's lacrosse National Championship Trophy, participate in a live auction, purchase SU gear from the retail table, pick up 2004 team posters and meet Otto the Orange. In addition, there will be games for kids and prize giveaways for everyone in attendance. Concession stands featuring hotdogs and hamburgers will be open.
