Syracuse Sweeps Siena To Extend Winning Streak

SYRACUSE, NY -- Syracuse began play on the second day of the Big Orange Tournament by extending its unbeaten streak to seven matches in a 3-0 blanking of Siena. The Orange is slated to take on New Hampshire in the final match of the tournament on Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m. in Manley Field House.
SU defeated Siena 30-23, 30-20 and 31-29 in Saturday afternoon's encounter. Freshman Cheryl Cobbina had a squad-best 12 kills and seven digs. Freshman Joscie Kaup added 10 kills.
Junior Aila Dommestrup contributed 34 assists in the match. Freshman Ellen Bruegge had three total blocks for the Orange.
Visiting Siena was paced by Christie Gustafson’s 10 kills and nine digs.
