SU Hosts Dartmouth On Thursday

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women’s soccer team hosts Dartmouth on Thursday, Sept. 23 at 4 p.m. The Orange is 1-5 versus the Big Green with its lone win coming in 1999. Syracuse lost 3-2 in double overtime last season in Hanover, N.H.
The Orange is led by seniors Sarah Elnicky and Kelly Bailie and sophomore Molly McManus, all three have five points this year. SU is coming off a 2-1 loss to No. 1 Notre Dame. Senior goalie Shannon Myers has allowed five goals in seven games and has three shutouts. Syracuse is ranked No. 4 in the NSCAA Northeast Region poll. SU is averaging 14.6 shots per game and 1.62 goals per contest.
Dartmouth is 3-1-2 on the season and ranked No. 3 in the NSCAA Northeast Region poll. The Big Green is led by Sarah Johnson with eight points on four goals. Big Green goalkeeper Anne Marbarger has similar numbers to Myers, allowing five goals in six games and recording three shutouts.
Thursday’s game will be televised locally on Time Warner Channel 26 on Friday, Sept. 24 at 4:30 p.m. and Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 9 p.m.
