Orange Volleyball Loses to Penn

PHILADELPHIA, PA. – Three Orange student-athletes recorded double-digits in kills, but the Syracuse volleyball team (13-3) lost its second match of the weekend, 3-1, against Penn at the Sheraton/Penn Invitational on Sunday. The Quakers prevailed, 30-23, 31-29, 19-30, 30-27.
Junior Kristen Conway posted a team-high 15 kills on 49 attempts and a .265 hitting percentage. Sophomore Erin McQuillin had 13 kills on a career-high 31 attempts, and senior Morgan Jones had 10 kills. Junior Aila Dommestrup recorded 40 assists, and freshman Joscie Kaup led SU’s defense with 18 digs.
Cara Thomason led Penn with a double-double on 15 kills and 28 digs. Thomason also posted a match-high 50 attacks. Linda Zhang recorded 46 assists.
The Orange returns home for a match against Albany on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 7:00 p.m.
