Ferri and Terry Head to Senior All-Star Games

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse University senior offensive tackle Adam Terry (Queensbury, N.Y.) has been selected to participate in the 2005 Senior Bowl and strong safety Diamond Ferri (Everett, Mass.) was selected to participate in the 2005 East-West Shrine Game.
Terry is the 49th player to represent the Orange in the Senior Bowl and he joins senior tailback Walter Reyes, who was also selected to play in the game. Terry, a first-team All-BIG EAST selection, had also been invited to play in the East-West Shrine Game, but has decided to participate in the 56th annual Senior Bowl. He has started 35 consecutive games at tackle. He was part of an offensive line that blocked for the first SU duo to each run for over 800 yards (Walter Reyes and Damien Rhodes) since 1979,
The 56th annual Senior Bowl will be played on January 29 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m. (ET) and the game will be televised on ESPN. Ferri is the 66th player to represent the Orange in the East-West Shrine Game. Ferri became the first player in BIG EAST history to garner both Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors in the same week for his performance at Boston College. Ferri carried the ball 28 times for 141 yards and two touchdowns. He also returned an interception 44 yards for a touchdown and tallied six tackles. He ranks ninth nationally in kickoff returns with 27.1 yards per return. He led the team with four interceptions, three fumble recoveries and five forced fumbles. He set an SU record with 161 interception return yards. Ferri finished the regular season second on the team with 99 tackles. He was named to the 2004 All-BIG EAST First Team.
The 80th annual East-West Shrine Game will be played on January 15 at SBC Park in San Francisco, Calif. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. (ET) and the game will be televised on ESPN. Ferri and Terry join senior center Matt Tarullo and Reyes as the four SU seniors invited to all-star games this year. Tarullo has been invited to play in the 2005 Gridiron Classic on January 15.
